Childbirth is one of the most amazing experiences any woman undergoes in her lifetime. It is a life-changing moment from the time you discover you are pregnant, to the moment your baby is welcomed into the world. 

Phelps Medical Group has two highly experienced and trained physicians that partner with you to ensure your entire pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care are special.

Charlotte Wirges, MD

Charlotte Wirges, MDDr. Charlotte Wirges is a seasoned physician in the community of Holdrege. As an active member of the Phelps Memorial Health Center medical staff since 1989, she has delivered newborns for nearly three decades. 

"I believe patient care should be compassionate. Health, wellness and prevention are key factors. My first priority is you, the patient. A good doctor does not work alone, a great angel is always at her side."

After completing her undergraduate degree at Wayne State College, she went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is an active member of the American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Practitioners.

Zach Egger, MD

Zach Egger, MDA member of the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Zach Egger is well-versed in the areas of obstetrics and osteopathic manipulative treatments. He utilizes his experience in osteopathic manipulative treatments to treat minor aches and pains caused by pregnancy. Osteopathic medicine connects hands-on therapeutic techniques, similar to those of chiropractors and physical therapists, with the science of medicine.

Dr. Egger grew up in the rural community of Wood River in Nebraska. With a passion for science, he knew from a young age that he wanted to be a medical professional. He prides himself in his ability to form relationships with people. Throughout his studies, he received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in exercise science, master's degree in bioethics and doctorate degree in osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
